Privacy Policy
Last updated September 13, 2026.
SlowDelve is a small, independently-run beta. This page says plainly what we collect, why, and who else ever sees it — no dense legal wrapper around it.
What we collect
- Account info — your email address, and a password if you set one (we never see it in plain text — it’s stored hashed).
- Game content — characters, narration, actions, dice rolls, and anything else you or your table write while playing. This is the core of the product: it’s what makes a game a game.
- Preferences — notification settings, your play streak, a browser push subscription if you turn that on.
- Crash and feedback reports — if something breaks, the error and the page it happened on are logged automatically (see Feedback) so we can find and fix it without needing you to write up a repro. If you’re signed in, the report is tied to your account so we can follow up.
- Basic usage analytics — anonymous, aggregate page-view counts. No cookies, and nothing that tracks you individually.
Who processes it
We don’t sell data, and we don’t use it for advertising. A few categories of processing happen behind the scenes, each only touching what it needs to do its job:
- Hosting, database, and authentication — the infrastructure that runs the app and stores everything above.
- AI language models — when an AI Dungeon Master is running your game, your recent actions and narration are sent to whichever model is answering that turn, purely to generate the next reply. Turning off the AI DM (running the game yourself) keeps your story out of this entirely.
- Email delivery — sends account and “it’s your move” emails. Sees your email address and, for a move notification, a short snippet of the scene.
- Your browser’s own push service — only if you opt into push notifications; it relays an encrypted “it’s your move” alert without seeing its contents.
Moderation
Player actions and AI narration pass through an automated safety screen before they go anywhere — it exists to block things like content endangering a minor, sexual content involving a minor, and attempts to manipulate the AI DM into ignoring its safety rules. What it blocks or flags is logged (the flagged text, which account, and why) so a pattern can be reviewed and, if needed, an account suspended.
How long we keep it
Game data is kept for as long as your account and its games exist — play-by-post is meant to be read back later, so we don’t auto-delete old turns. Crash and feedback reports are kept as long as they’re useful for fixing things.
Your choices
You can turn off email and push notifications from your account settings at any time. There isn’t yet a self-serve “delete my account” button — in the meantime, tell us you’d like your account and data deleted and we’ll do it by hand, as soon as we can.
Children
SlowDelve isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, let us know and we’ll remove it.
Changes
This is a beta and this page will change as the product does. We’ll update the date at the top when it does; check the changelog for what’s new generally.
